Craig Bremner

Craig Bremner is Professor of Design at Charles Sturt University. Prior to this he held positions of Professor of Design at Northumbria University and at University of Canberra, where he had also been Dean of the Faculty of Design & Architecture. Starting with an Arts degree in English literature, he then studied design in Milan, and a PhD in architecture at RMIT. His research deals with developing methods to examine why we don’t know much about the experience of design, and finding ways to make it clear why not knowing is an essential foundation of our practice. Applications of his research traced the experience of living in Glasgow, using banks, and driving motorcars. In his private practice he has curated design exhibitions that have toured Australia, USA, and Japan. He has worked as a designer in Italy, Scotland and Australia.
