Lisa Grocott

Lisa Grocott is a communication designer, educator and researcher at Parsons in New York where she has spent the last six years as a dean of academic initiatives. Lisa's design research and administrative practice works with diagrams and visual essays designed to facilitate discussion. Lisa's practice-led scholarship specifically explores the capabilities of design-oriented research. This studio practice informs her publications, the Evolution conference she co-convened on art and design PhDs, and the graduate research courses and faculty development workshops she facilitates. Before arriving in New York, Lisa was director of the Communication Design Masters at RMIT University and creative director at Studio Anybody, in Melbourne, Australia. Lisa has a BFA in Graphic Design and American Studies from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand; a MFA in Painting and a M.Des in Communication Design from RMIT University, Australia; and a project-based PhD that examines the reflective agency of design research.
