Dr Carolyn Barnes (PhD Melb 2004) is Director of External Research Liaison and a Senior Research Fellow in the Faculty of Design, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. She is involved in a range of research projects investigating the role of art and design in public contexts. Carolyn is an assistant editor of the International Journal of Design and a member of the editorial board of The Journal of Visual Arts Practice and visual:design:scholarship: Research Journal of the Australian Graphic Design Association. Craftsman House published her monograph on the Hong Kong-Australian artist John Young in 2005.
