Martha Sullivan
Martha Sullivan is a Visiting Professor of Industrial Design in the School of Architecture + Design, at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. Martha instructs courses in Ceramics (hand-building, wheel-throwing, and slip casting), Computer Aided Design (SolidWorks for students in Industrial Design), and Foundations of Design Laboratory (a first year course for students of architecture, landscape architecture, industrial design, and interior design). In 2013, Martha was awarded Virginia Tech’s University Certificate for Excellence in Outreach for conducting service learning projects in multiple courses with students, as well her volunteer work with regional art associations. She has previously been honoured with an Excellence in Teaching award from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies, as well as the Gianninoto Graduate Scholarship from the Industrial Designers Society of America for her thesis work in industrial ceramics.
